Rep

Morning.

I have already been up and have sung for Wishart's Voice class. It was interesting, because I really wasn't sure what to expect, but the class chose that I sing first and leave, so they wouldn't be distracted for their performance. I didn't feel so hot about it, because I am still congested and very very dry, so in my head I didn't sound like I wanted, and I really hadn't memorized. I really need to be working on my repretoire a lot more. Yesterday Vicky went and performed at some function and I laughed because she has a distinctively different vocal library in her head than I do. She did an aria from Tosca, and three pieces by Bellini. I realized that the songs that I would pull out are all musical theatre, and that frankly, I don't have too many I can just pull out and perform memorized. (Mostly due to the fact that I hardly audition.)

So, I'll start working on rep.

Dark and Rainy Tuesday

Today is the day of my Aunt Florence's funeral. It is not expected to be above forty-five degrees, and no sunshine. :( Perfect day for a funeral I guess. I had to postpone the final projects in my class to thursday so I could go today.

My dad (who lost his older sister) seems no different than before she died. I am sure he must feel something but I don't know if or when we'll see it. I do not know what to expect today.

So, I am off to help with food and stuff for the funeral dinner. I am looking forward to seeing some cousins I haven't seen in a long time. That's all I have for now.

Now free to move about the country

On the move...

I'm going to be a bonafide gypsy this year! I am so excited! Tucker and I got word on Friday that we did get the Holland America job!!!

July 20th, we will fly out to the Final Frontier, to experience and learn about Alaska, so that we may aptly encourage those who have booked Holland America cruises to the Great White North, to take a land excursion as well! YIPPEE! After Alaska, we rehearse for a few weeks in the Northwest, and begin our work on August 23rd, in Minneapolis!

It is so exciting to think about... I only wish it were sooner, but there are plenty of things to take care of before then. So... all systems go for Alaska! North to the FUTURE!

Friday Morning...

So far so good today. :) It's only 9:30 am, I haven't really done anything, but I did catch up on some sleep last night. The night before, I didn't sleep well at all for a number of reasons, so yesterday I was in first gear most of the time.

Things have gotten a lot more busy for me in the next two weeks, because I took a job at a church for Holy week, (the Olympics of church music). Rehearsal last night, rehearsal tuesday, and many services next week, none of which I really know anything about. Growing up, our church just seems to do a special thing on Easter sunday and that's about it.

Tonight I see Tucker, which is a good thing. I miss him.

And that's about all for now. Having been out of the blogging/journaling world now for about a year, I am tentative to jump back in. (Maybe I'm afraid of what will come out.)

Alright, I'm off.

Monday, March 30, 2009

Well it's monday morning. So far I'm feeling... "meh" but I'm hoping to perk up here in a few minutes. I'll be spending most of the day with Ms. Vicky which is always good. She is just a great person to be around period. I'll be playing for her a lot this week, along with teaching class and rehearsing for the Benefit Concert next month.

Had an ok weekend. Yesterday was probably the highlight, I went over to Teri's for the afternoon and we just sat and talked and drank coffee. Then she took me to the chicken coop and we gathered a dozen eggs to take home! And I got to hold a CHICKEN! Then we went to see the big cows, who all peed on our arrival. (I guess they pee when they get excited.) And then we went to the barn with the little cows and Teri opened the door and said, "Oh that's not good." Six of them had gotten out into the aisle, and they were looking at us like... "What??" It was super cute. So then Teri went around behind them all and shooed them into their gate again... It was fun.

Anywho... off to the day. Peace.

So, I've decided. I'm going to go to Alaska. Tucker and I are going to work with Onstage Alaska and be traveling the country for the rest of the year. And I'm gonna see this...

Sleepy...

It's been so long since I have blogged here, I know. Too long...

It's 6:30 ish am and I am laying in my bed in Battle Creek. Couldn't sleep anymore. I keep hearing animals creeping and crawling in the walls. Yikes. Thank goodness Dennis provides us with wireless. I can't imagine being here without internet access. I guess I'll be heading down to make some toast here in a minute... hope I fall asleep again soon, otherwise it could be a shit show today. We'll see...
